Notable series of my in-game photos, which are almost like projects

photos + ingame camera VRChat + Photoshop On a nice fall day, I walked around the village and photographed locations like an employee of the Housing and Utilities Department. Then, in VRChat, I selected heroes for it, invented plots depending on the avatars' capabilities. I photographed them there on the ingame camera (it has the ability to shoot only avatars without the environment). Then all this was combined one with another and shadows were added. It turned out to be a kind of tribute to my very small homeland, with which we had different relations at different moments of life. Somewhere the avatars helped to express the feeling of the place, somewhere they tried to integrate into reality, somewhere they were random passers-by

The search for meaning for a series of in-game photographs turns into a search for meaning in the entire process of producing, objectifying and exhibiting a work of art. All clues are given to the viewer. The virtual bodies clumsily pretend to be alive, but when you pause the game, choose an angle, and add effects, they immediately become indistinguishable from the dead. The dead have no regret or longing for their condition. The virtual living can become temporarily dead at any moment. Bodies existing in superposition. A world that has white cubes of leveldesign hidden beyond the boundary of visibility, doors labeled "replace with such-and-such." A devil who sits under the floor because only his hands are used in the cutscene and it was easier to use his entire model than to cut off his limbs. The classic Russian color palette of grayness and obligatory ruin that one wants to forcibly change. The liminality of bodies, the conventionality of the world, limited interactivity, interfaces.

Creating and exploring a virtual body for a game in which I was going to spend a lot of time and experience an adventure (the game turned out to be a complete disappointment). The images chosen were a reflection on characters from another game and an attempt to reimagine them in the context of another world. The result was literally me.
